Water pours in through leaks in the hull. Empty the ship before the timer runs out! If the water reaches the deck, the crew hops into the lifeboat. Two ways to play: in Patch & bail, tap a leak 💦 to patch it with a plank and tap the water to toss a bucket overboard. In Bucket crew, the holes cannot be patched: tap a crew member (or the water) to send them to scoop a bucket and toss it overboard, and keep the whole crew busy. Keyboard: Space to bail, E to patch the oldest leak, P to pause.
A bit of history: sailors really did bail water with buckets. Wooden ships always leaked a little, so the crew kept pumps and buckets busy, and carpenters patched holes with wood and tar. Leaky Ship is an original game with its own crew and ship.
